School Council Representative Applications

Children in years 2-6 are invited to apply for the position of School Council Representative for their class this year.  Being a member of the school council is an important role as children will be at the centre of driving change and improving children’s experiences at school.  This year, school council members will be involved in raising money for charities, helping children to make healthier choices, and making improvements to the school day.

The ideal school council representative must consistently demonstrate our school values of positivity, honesty, respect, kindness, perseverance and unity.  They will be expected to attend regular meetings (often held during lunch time), listen to feedback from their peers, carry out surveys and communicate their findings with Horn Park stakeholders - these are our parents, teachers, pupils, governors, and the community around us. School council representatives must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be willing to lead assemblies when sharing information and updates on their projects.

We will be appointing one school council representative for each class.  If your child would like to apply to be a member of the school council, please support them in downloading and completing the application form below (printed copies are also available in school – please ask your child to speak to their class teacher).  Children will be expected to give a short speech to their class, explaining why they would like to be a school council member.  Please support your child with memorising what they would like to say.  Forms must be handed to class teachers by Wednesday 1st October 2025late applications will not be accepted.

Please do not hesitate to speak with Miss Waite should you have any questions.
