Citizens UK aim to bring everyday people together to build power and make a positive change on the issues that matter most to them.

During the project, students can opt into a range of curriculum opportunities held at various comprehensive secondary schools in the Local Authority. This project is designed to help students consider what Royal Greenwich Secondary Schools have to offer and to support their Year 6 to Year 7 transition.

You can apply directly with the Royal Greenwich Music Service via this form.

The document, which can be seen below, highlights the importance of mutual trust and respect, and building parent/carer and school partnerships based on our shared commitment to a great education for all. 

This all has similar threads to our Home School Agreement. There are also helpful tips for how to raise a concern or give feedback.

You may have met me at the Careers Fair last week and will see me at the school gates over the coming months. I’m here to listen: to understand how local issues impact you, what would make life better in Horn Park, and how we can work together to bring those ideas to life.

I would also like to invite you to the: Greenwich Local Elections Assembly on the 22^nd April 2026. An Assembly is an organised event where different local institutions - including schools, faith groups, unions, universities, and charities - come together to present the issues they care about and ask political candidates to make public commitments to act on them. The workshops are free to attend for parents and carers of children attending Greenwich schools and last for approximately one hour and, time permitting, a Q&A session will be possible at the end.

Parenting today can feel overwhelming — especially when childhood looks so different from what we grew up with. There’s no manual, and it can be hard to keep up with the fast-changing digital world your child moves through every day. This guide from the Children's Commissioner aims to make those conversations easier and help you support your child with confidence.

Throughout the afternoon, children will have the opportunity to visit stalls and talk to a number of visitors from a variety of professions.

At the end of the school day at 3.15pm, the fair will continue and provides parents and carers with the opportunity to visit with your child.

Many families and members of staff have been personally affected by these events and as a school we want to help.

On Wednesday 17th December, we will be holding a fundraising event and we are inviting children to wear green, yellow or black to school for a £1 donation.

We will also be holding a cake sale and donation drive after school at 3.15pm in the playground. 

We are looking for donations of cakes for the cake sale (please remember we are a nut free school) but we are also looking for: toiletries, non-perishable foods (such as rice, tinned fish) and pencils, paper pads, small card games for children.

Please bring cakes to the school office prior to the cake sale (please label with ingredients) and donations to the playground after school at 3.15pm on Wednesday 17th December.

Parent Champions Project

PINS SEND Parent Champions Briefing for Schools

As part of the Parent Participation work taking place in the Primary schools who are part the PINS project.

One of the areas we would like to develop is to have a small team of parent champions in each school who will act as the link between each school and their school community.

We would like to invite you to a briefing on line where we will tell you about the role of being a parent champion.

We are looking for 2-3 parent/carers in each school who would be willing to volunteer 2-5 hours a week or month to meet with other parents telling them about services for children and young people with SEND such as:

What are the benefits for parents?

· Training to assist them to move toward developing your confidence and skills

· Experience that will support you toward new goals and employment

· You will become better informed and equipped in your own role as parents and working in partnership,
