    Please see below details of local summer holiday events taking place across the borough:

    Young Greenwich Summer Academy is returning this year! They have put together a diverse programme featuring over 40 exciting activities for young people to take part in. https://www.young-greenwich.org.uk/ygsummer24

    GLL the Eltham leisure centre in the high street, are hosting an open days 20th-21st July for families with free activities for children and adults such as free swimming, free fitness class try out, fun activities in the pool. There will also be a chance for families to learn more about what we offer.

  • Healthier Greenwich Partnership Coffee Morning - Friday 12th July 9.05-10am

    The Healthier Greenwich Partnership, who were recently at the school's summer fayre, are working to help shape the future of Horn Park Community. They are inviting all members of the community to come and talk to them at a coffee morning at the school on the Friday 12th  July at from 9.05am to 10am. You will receive information on activities in your area, Live Well Greenwich, have your say on summer activities and be able to sign up to be part of our Horn Park resident meetings and talk to the team about anything you want to share about the local area.

  • Nursery and Sycamores Sports Day - Monday 1st July

    We are excited to announce that the date of our Sports Day will be Monday 1st July and will take place in the park behind the school.

    The times of this event will be:

    Nursery AM, 30 hours and Sycamores: 10am – 11am

    Nursery PM and 30 hours: 1.30pm – 2.30pm

    We would love for you to come and watch and support your children, so please meet us at the school office at 9.45am or 1.15pm to accompany us on our walk over. Parents of Nursery 30 hours are welcome to either session. Nursery children can be taken home after the event has finished.

  • Sports Day - Friday 28th June - Reception to Year 6

    We are very excited to announce that this year, Sports Day will be held again at Sutcliffe Park, taking place on Friday 28th June.

    We would like to invite you to attend and share in the day’s events. It is a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to use the centre’s brilliant facilities and for the Horn Park community to come together to celebrate and participate in the day.

    Children will attend school as normal and walk to Sutcliffe Park after registration ready for a 10:00am start. If any adults are able to walk down with their child’s class to the sports centre, it would be much appreciated; please let their class teacher know.

    We will aim to finish the final events by 12:45pm and then stay on site for lunch. After lunch, parents are welcome to take their child/children home directly from Sutcliffe Park. Children will not be allowed to walk home from Sutcliffe Park alone and any children whose parents are not attending will walk back to school to end the day as normal.

    Please note, upon arrival, all attendees will enter the sports day site through the side entrance shown on the map. There will be a member of staff there to meet you. Parking at the sports centre is very limited, so we advise arriving on foot.

    Please ensure your child comes fully prepared for the day. This includes coming to school in appropriate PE kit and footwear (there will not be time to change before we leave), sun cream and sun hats, packed lunch, and plenty of water.

    The entire site has a strict no smoking policy, therefore you would need to leave the premises to do so.

  • Forest School Events

    We are very excited to welcome families into Forest School on the following dates to experience a forest school session with a camp fire, hot chocolate and biscuits.
    Reception, Year 1 and 2 on Wednesday 10th July 5-6pm
    Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 on Thursday 11th July 5-6pm.
    Due to the space, places are limited. Please complete this form to register your interest and confirmation emails will be sent confirming your place.

    We are also delighted to be arranging our first overnight camping in Forest School for Friday 13th September and Friday 20th September. This will be for the current Year 4 children, next academic year when they are in Year 5 .

    Due to space, there will be two sessions and children can attend one. Please complete this form indicating which date you would prefer (this will be a preference and we cannot guarantee which date your child will be given)
    The session will be run by school staff. You will need to drop your child back to school at 6pm and collect at 8am the following morning. Further details will be sent closer to the time.

    The Young Greenwich Health school nursing service are offering  parent drop in sessions on sleep management on: 

    *Tuesday 14th May at Hawksmoor youth hub from 9:30-10:30am.

     *Tuesday 21st May at Woolwich common Youth Hub from 12-1pm.

    This is open to all families of school-aged children across Greenwich.
